Houbara bustard in the world

Taxonomy

The houbara bustard is a Gruiform that belongs to the Otididae family. Two species of houbara bustard are currently recognized:

- the Asian houbara, Chlamydotis macqueenii, from Sinai to western Mongolia,

- the North African houbara, Chlamydotis undulata, from north Mauritania to Egypt with a subspecies, Chlamydotis undulata fuertaventurae, endemic of the Canary Islands.
